Hello

My name is Jane Tregenza, I am still happily married to the same wonderful man (coming up for 30 years) and the busy Mum to 5 wonderful children, now all grown up. I still have three living at home. I have been scrapbooking for over 7 years since first wandering into my local scrapbooking store wanting to make an album for my eldest daughter who was turning 21. Within a couple of months I was teaching and passing on my love for this wonderful art form to others. I have been the owner of my own scrapbooking store Seriously Scrapbooking for over 5 years. I teach 10-15 classes a month in my store. I also teach master classes to other teachers and store owners Australia wide. This year I was a guest teacher at one of Australia’s biggest scrapbooking expos and have been invited back again next year. I love teaching and sharing my love for scrapbooking with others, hearing their stories and sharing mine. Once of the other joys of scrapbooking is the people you meet. I now have a wide circle of friends from all over the world that scrapbooking has introduced me to. I am very delighted and honoured to be on Graphic 45’s Design team for a second year. I am design team leader for Imaginarium Designs and get to design chipboard for them as well. I am really loving this new direction for me. The chance to design chipboard products to be used by fellow scrapbookers is a dream come true and great fun. I have had my work published in Australia and USA. My style changes depending on who I am designing/working for and what products I am using. I really love Graphic 45. The rich colours and small designs are perfect for m! e. I can use them on layouts and altered art project which I love making. I can do pretty and pastel but I keep wanting to do mixed media or grunge and love doing male layouts. I love distress inks and stamping. With my work the photo must be the focus. I like straight lines and everything needs to line up. I love layering papers and embellishments to get just the look I want. I have been known to throw away a page and start all over again. For me, I have to be really happy with the finished project. If I don’t like it, I won’t use it. I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to scrapbooking. I like to hide things on my page for people to find who take the time to really look. One of my other passions is making books. These I make from scratch, and one book can take me 5-10 days to make. I have started making pop up elements in my books using Graphic 45 Papers and chipboard from Imaginarium Designs. Who knows where this journey will take me. You can visit my blog

When Naomi sent me the page, and I saw the title was “Place”. I knew exactly which place I wanted to share with you. I was able to visit the States in January last year for CHA and afterwards went to San Francisco. I spent one day visiting Alcatraz prison. It was a very moving experience and one I will never for! get. I w as standing in the D block of the prison where the detention cells were. The way the prison is built means the prisoners don’t have windows to see out of. The island Alcatraz is built on is not far away from San Francisco and the prisoners although they could not see, could hear the sounds of people and music from the piers on a quiet evening. The photo captures the feeling of being shut in and looking out. The View from the window was beautiful and restful. Quite a contrast to the feeling you had inside the prison. I have used spinners to make a compass pointing to the title words. “Alcatraz one significant Place” I added lots of metal embellishments and chipboard from Imaginarium Designs. The papers are all from Graphic 45’s new Tropical Travelogue. For the word “place” I have used the new stickers from Graphic 45 with some glossy accents on top.

Robin L Shakoor

First, I want to thank you for having me as a guest designer, I am truly honored. I have been an avid paper crafter since February, 2008. I have over 10 years experience as a floral designer and my love of flowers is reflected on most of my projects. I always have the urge to add a flower here or there. I truly love the art of design in all aspects of life. If I had to define my style using one word it would be "Romantic." I love beautifully embellished projects with lots and lots of detail. I use die cutting, detail cutting, inking, paper piecing, punching, stamping and anything else you can do with paper. Although this is my true style, I easily adapt my style depending on the type of project.
